President Akıncı meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajcak, who holds the term presidency of OSCE.

As part of his contacts in New York, President Mustafa Akıncı met with Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, who currently holds the term presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

At the meeting, President Akıncı pointed out that the Greek Cypriot side’s unilateral hydrocarbon activities caused tension in the Eastern Mediterranean, and he briefed the minister about his meeting with the Greek Cypriot leader in July, about which he had also informed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, on the proposal of a joint committee to manage the hydrocarbon resources.
During the meeting at the UN Permanent Representative of Slovakia, works carried out on the Cyprus issue were also discussed.
