Consultation meeting at the Presidency
A consultation meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Ersin Tatar regarding the law draft submitted to the Greek Cypriot Parliament, which will also affect the taxis and buses that currently provide transportation services in Southern Cyprus.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Undersecretary Serhan Aktunç, Traffic Department Director Ahmet Aydın, officials from the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Turkish Cypriot Contemporary Public Vehicles Operators Association, Turkish Cypriot Public Transport Association and Turkish Cypriot Taxi Drivers Association.
President’s Special Representative Güneş Onar, Presidential Administrative Department Director Osman Çağakan, Legal Affairs Advisor Sülen Karabacak and Confidence Building Measures and Bilateral Technical Committees Coordinator Seniha Birand Çınar also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the issue was evaluated in detail with relevant parties, and possible initiatives and steps that could be taken were discussed.
