First Lady Sibel Tatar participates in “3rd TRNC Golden Caretta Life and Tourism Awards”
First Lady Sibel Tatar participated in the “3rd TRNC Golden Caretta Life and Tourism Awards” ceremony, which was organised by Saygın Media and Cyprus Turkish Businessmen Association (İŞAD)
First Lady Sibel Tatar participated in the “3rd TRNC Golden Caretta Life and Tourism Awards” ceremony that was held at the Acapulco Resort Hotel in Çatalköy – which was also the main sponsor of the event.
Organised in cooperation with Saygın Media and the Cyprus Turkish Businessmen Association (İŞAD), awards were handed out to successfull entrepreneurs, business people, famous names and brands of Türkiye and the TRNC. The awards had been determined by judges.
The best TV channel award was given to Kanal T – the first private television channel of the TRNC founded by President Ersin Tatar, which has been chaired by First Lady Sibel Tatar for the past 15 years.
First Lady Sibel Tatar, speaking prior to the start of the ceremony, expressed her gratitude to the judges for awarding Kanal T, adding that the channel has celebrated its 27th anniversary.
“I wish to take this award on behalf of all media sector personnel in our country, who are hard working and devoted to the profession,” First Lady Tatar said.
There were emotional moments at the ceremony, which commenced with the remembrance of the ‘Angels Team’ – the schoolchildren of the volleyball team of Türk Maarif College based in Gazimağusa and the tens of thousands of people, who had lost their lives following the catastrophic earthquakes in Türkiye on February 6, 2023.
