First Lady Sibel Tatar visits Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University

In her speech during the visit, Sibel Tatar, who visited Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University, said that she is happy to be with the exceptional administrators, staff and women from non-governmental organisations and businesswomen in the region and emphasised the necessity of solidarity between women and added that “if women support each other and raise their children with these ideals, we will have no problems in the future”.

Underlining that Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University has made a great contribution to the development of the region since its establishment, Mrs Tatar stated that she believed this contribution will continue to increase. The First Lady pointed out that the “distinguished region of Güzelyurt in TRNC has been neglected for many years, but today the process of closing the existing disparity has accelerated with the increase in the number of higher education institutions in the region”. She added that Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University will carry out many qualified projects related to the health sector, and train students equipped to work in the health sector,” adding: “I am glad you are in the region and you have realised such an organisation. Thank you for all your hard work. I would like to say that together we will make this region better and we will provide all support necessary.”

The First Lady thanked Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University Rector Prof. İbrahim Levent Taner and the chairman and members of the board of trustees for their hospitality and stated that the strong cooperation at the university would make great contributions to the region in particular, and to the TRNC higher education sector and health field in general. Sibel Tatar wished Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences success in their work. After her speech, Sibel Tatar examined the academic and cultural activities carried out at the university and she was presented a plaque in memory of her visit to the University by the Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Levent Taner.
