Live concert by TRNC PSO, dedicated to Muammer Sun
The TRNC Presidential Symphony Orchestra is back on stage on Saturday, 27 March, at 8.30 p.m. with a live concert dedicated to Muammer Sun, a master composer of Turkish classical music.
Organized in collaboration with the TRNC Ministry of Education and Culture State Opera and Ballet Coordination Center, the concert will be conducted by Murat Menket and will feature soloists Rüya Taner on piano and soprano Sermin Dikmen Töre.
The concert programme includes Muammer Sun’s “Bozkırın Sesi”, J. Haydn’s “Piano Concerto No. 11 D Major, Hob. XVIII” and F. Schubert’s “5th Symphony”.
The concert will broadcast live from the concert hall of METU Northern Cyprus Campus, Kalkanlı, by joint broadcast of BRTK, Kanal T, Genç TV, Diyalog TV and Ada TV.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the concert will take place without audience.
Muammer Sun, who is considered as one of the master composers of Turkish classical music, was born in Ankara, in 1932 and has lost his life at the beginning of this year.
