President Ersin Tatar attends Caretta Caretta Festival held at the Güzelyalı beach in Karşıyaka
Hundreds of people took part in the ‘Caretta Caretta Festival’ that was held at the Güzelyalı beach in Karşıyaka, where messages were given in relation to the need to protecting the wildlife and environment.
President Ersin Tatar also attended the event, the second of its kind, which was held in cooperation with the Northern Cyprus Foundation for the Protection of Environment and Cultural Heritage and the Lefkoşa Central Lions Club.
In his speech at the event, President Ersin Tatar stated that he was happy to be with people and children who love the environment and nature, and congratulated the Northern Cyprus Foundation for the Protection of Environment and Cultural Heritage, Lefkoşa Central Lions Club and Lapta Municipality employees and everyone who contributed to the work.
“PROTECTING TURTLES AND THE ENVIRONMENT IS A VIRTUE OF HUMANITY”
Stating that it is a virtue of humanity to protect the turtles that have been living in the seas and beaches for thousands of years, President Tatar emphasised the importance of the efforts to protect and conserve the nature and the “green and blue environment” of the country.

Addressing the fire and flood disaster in Turkey and the fire that occurred in Karşıyaka a month ago, President Tatar emphasised that “humanity can face natural disasters and that the important thing is to strive to protect the world's existence and the beauties and blessings bestowed upon humanity”.
President Tatar said that those who rule the state and those who protect the state must take care to make sure that we leave all the natural beauties and blessings to future generations, and that these type of activities give the message that "we need to be sensitive and do our best in order to protect our country, our culture and our environment".
“SACRIFICES ARE BEING MADE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS”
Pointing out that “excessive consumption” should be prevented, President Tatar stated that they are proud to have the characteristics of being humane and of being a people. President Tatar said: “We are not just living for this day. We are making sacrifices for the preservation and continuation of the nature and its beauties. My wish is that our sacrifices will benefit future generations even when we are no longer here.”
