President Ersin Tatar stated that these days have not come easy for Turkish Cypriots and the heroic deeds of the military officers during the years of struggle, exerted for the sake of the country to protect the Turkish Cypriot people, will always be cherished.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the premises of the Civil Defense Organization on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Cyprus Turkish Retired Officers Association, President Tatar said:
“We paid great prices. We have martyrs and we went through genocide, pain and in the end, we established a State, a Republic. With the support of our motherland Türkiye, we will protect this republic to the very end.”
Referring to the speech by President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the UN General Assembly in New York, President Ersin Tatar said that by calling upon the lifting of the embargoes and isolations which are considered as persecution on the Turkish Cypriots, President Erdoğan has made history.
President Tatar once again extended his thanks to President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has called on the international community to recognise the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus.
“Our duty in the protection of our interests in the Eastern Mediterranean lies upon defending the national policy to the end with strength and mujahideen spirit, in unity and solidarity.”
Pointing to the importance of knowing well the history, President Tatar reminded that Turkish Cypriots stood against the games played by the Greek Cypriot-Greek duo for the annexation of the island to Greece. “We are rendering a great service to our nation in the execution of this holy cause” the President said. “We must preserve our unity and solidarity”.
President Tatar reminded that in South Cyprus, the anniversary of abandoning the understanding of two equal peoples and state is being celebrated and drew attention to the pain and massacres caused by the Greek Cypriot-Greek duo.

Our duty to safeguard our interests in the Eastern Mediterranean by strengthening the TRNC together with motherland Türkiye is to defend the national policy to the end with the spirit of resistance and mujahideen in unity and solidarity, pointed out the President.
