President Ersin Tatar congratulates Turkish Cypriot athletes
President Ersin Tatar commended Turkish Cypriot athletes, Buse Savaşkan and Merve Çelebi following their recent successes in two separate international tournaments.
President Tatar expressed his "heartfelt congratulations" to Buse Savaşkan, who took part in the Balkan Indoor Athletics Championship that was held in Istanbul -- as part of the Turkish Athletics National Team, where she came third in the High Jump branch. The championship was attended by 236 athletes from 18 countries.
President Tatar also congratulated Merve Çelebi for her team championship in the 2021 CEV Snow Volleyball tournament. Ms Çelebi participated as a member of the Turkish National Team in the first leg of the European Tour, held in Wagrain, Austria.
The President expressed his pride in the achievements of both athletes and thanked them "for representing the Turkish Cypriots in the international community in the best way possible".
Stating that he will give all kinds of support for the continuation of their achievements, President Tatar wished success to the athletes.
