President Ersin Tatar issues a message on the World Alzheimer’s Day

President Ersin Tatar in his message on 21 September World Alzheimer’s Day stated the following:

“The elderly population is rapidly increasing in our country as well as in the world with the development of awareness and screening studies along with the improvements in medicine.

While scientists have not yet found a certain cure for Alzheimer’s disease, studies have made progress in slowing down the process and reducing the severity of some symptoms.

Exercise, music, art and daylight are useful treatments in addition to drug therapy.

According to data from studies in the field of health, exercise starting early in life can reduce brain damage caused by Alzheimer's disease.

Whilst reminding that in order to protect our brain health for a healthy aging, we need to maintain an active life. I wish success to the scientists working on Alzheimer’s disease and the healthcare professionals who contribute to the matter and wish healthy life for everyone.”
