President Ersin Tatar made a statement on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the Cyprus Foundation Administration and the 65th anniversary of its handover to the Turkish Cypriot people
The President made a statement and said “"Our biggest responsibility is to protect and keep the Cyprus Administration of Foundations alive." He said the following:
“We have celebrated the 450th anniversary of the foundation of the Cyprus Foundations Administration, which is one of the most important symbols and the guarantee of the Turkish presence in Cyprus. With the Cyprus Foundations Administration, which was established right after the conquest of Cyprus in 1571, the Turkishness was signed on Cyprus and the first steps have been taken for the development of our people in social and economic areas and for the development and root of goodness, solidarity. While our ancestors devoted their properties, the Cyprus Foundation Administration has reached its present day, more strengthened.
With the start of the British Colonial Administration in 1878, the most valuable properties of the Cyprus Administration of Foundations were unfairly and illegally given to the Greek Cypriots and in 1914, the management of the Cyprus Foundation Administration was seized. Since that day, our people have spent great efforts to get the Cyprus Foundation Administration back.
After the struggle started for years and continued under the leadership of one of our leaders, Fazıl Küçük, the Cyprus Foundations Administration was handed over to the Turkish Cypriot people on April 15, 1956. Today we are celebrating the 65th anniversary of this great victory.
I appreciate and follow the work of the Cyprus Foundations Administration, which acts with the principles of kindness, solidarity and solidarity and their ownership of foundation properties and their beneficial use for the public. It is one of our biggest responsibility to protect and keep the Cyprus Administration of Foundations alive. I once again reiterate my sensitivity on this matter.
