President Ersin Tatar meets with Minister of Health Ali Pilli
President Ersin Tatar received Minister of Health Ali Pilli and got information about the latest developments about health.
President Tatar stated that serious steps have been taken with regards to health since his prime ministry duty and added that Turkish Cypriots are at a very good point in terms of managing the pandemic today through measures and the regulations implemented.
Stating that whilst there are nearly 200 cases per day in South Cyprus, the number in the North is under control with 2 to 5 cases per day, President Tatar pointed out that South Cyprus hospitals are going through troubled days and expressed his relief that no Covid-19 patient is in intensive care unit in the North and warned all citizens to retain the taken measures.
The President indicated that the investments made in the field of health and the pandemic hospital relieved the burden of Burhan Nalbantoğlu Hospital. President Tatar also noted that the third phase of the 100-bed Güzelyurt Hospital is about to be completed.
Mentioning the purchase of the Girne American University Hospital, President Tatar expressed his dissatisfaction in terms of its delay for completion despite all his efforts. The President noted that work continues to be carried out for its finalisation and said “I will be closely following the process and will give all my support.”
Minister of Health Ali Pilli informed the President about the technical equipment of the Nicosia Emergency Hospital and stated that the hospital will be fully equipped with the activation of MR and tomography devices.
Referring to the Girne American University hospital, Pilli noted that 63 million TL have been blocked for the mentioned hospital and the necessary amount for purchasing equipment has been donated by the Republic of Turkey. Pilli stated that the goal is to complete the hospital construction in the summer of 2021. Pilli also added that the work is underway to complete ANATEM, which will serve for addiction treatment.
