President Ersin Tatar participates in the “Academic Promotion Ceremony” of 2024-2025 at the Near East University
President Ersin Tatar delivered a speech at the Near East University (NEU) “Academic Promotion Ceremony” of 2024-2025, held at the Atatürk and Cultural Congress Centre.

More than 100 academics, including 64 assistant professors, 24 associate professors and 19 professors received their certificates of promotion.
Stating that he is “happy to be taking part in such an important ceremony,” President Tatar said: “We are today celebrating your academic successes and acknowledging your achievements. I congratulate everybody who are being rewarded here today.”
"Successes are of great importance not only for individuals but also for the future of the university and society. I pay tribute to your hard work that has and no doubt will contribute to the development of vital knowledge in todays world which has advanced so much in communications and technology," President Tatar said.
The President expressed his gratitude to the NEU Founding Rector, Prof. Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, “who has always been ahead of time with his pioneering vision, success, determination and sacrifices”.
Emphasising that NEU has made great strides in promoting the TRNC to the world, President Tatar said: “NEU is not just an educational institution. It is a distinct establishment shaped by science, art and technology. The NEU is a source of pride for the TRNC with its academic strength and pioneering structure in scientific studies. Although artificial intelligence has not yet become so prominent on the world agenda, an innovation centre has already been established on this campus. This is not only a technological investment, but also an indicator of a strong vision for the future. The university is acting ahead of its time.”
President Tatar stated that NEU won two championships by competing with five projects in the recently held TRNC TEKNOFEST finals this year, adding: “NEU is successfully representing our country and is an example we are proud of. If you can leave a product or work behind in the world, if you can share your knowledge with people. . . this is a great value.”
