President Ersin Tatar participated in the ceremony at the Founding President Rauf Denktaş Memorial Tomb in Lefkoşa held in commemoration of the July 20 Peace and Freedom Day.
The ceremony, which commenced with the laying of wreaths, was followed by a moment of silence and the raising of the flags of the Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC to the National Anthem, concluded with the signing of the Memorial Special Book by President Ersin Tatar.
President Tatar wrote the following in the Memorial Special Book:
“Dearest Founding President Rauf Denktaş,
“We are today once again in your presence, on the 49th anniversary of the historic day, when the Cyprus Peace Operation took place on the morning of July 20, 1974, following your great struggle, perseverance, resistance and sacrifice.
The ceremony, which commenced with the laying of wreaths, was followed by a moment of silence and the raising of the flags of the Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC to the National Anthem, concluded with the signing of the Memorial Special Book by President Ersin Tatar.
