President Ersin Tatar receives Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States
President Ersin Tatar, who is in New York for the 77th UN General Assembly, received the Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States, Baghdad Amreyev, at the TRNC Representative Office located in the Türkevi (Turkish House).
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kemal Köprülü, TRNC New York Representative Mehmet Dana and TRNC Washington Representative Mustafa Lakadamyalı.
During the meeting, the issues of improving relations and increasing solidarity between the TRNC and the Organisation of Turkic States were discussed.
President Tatar underlined that as a Turkish State, the support of the Organisation of Turkic States for the TRNC is of great importance and that the bond between them should be further strengthened. Discussions were also held with regards to the Cyprus issue and the injustices faced by the Turkish Cypriot People who continue to be internationally isolated through no fault of their own.
Mr Amreyev emphasised that the Organisation of Turkic States also attach importance to its relations with the TRNC.
