President Ersin Tatar receives former Secretary General of TÜRKSOY Dusen Kaseinov
“It is my wish for a residential area in the TRNC to be declared a cultural capital in the foreseeable future.”
President Ersin Tatar received the former Secretary General of TÜRKSOY Dusen Kaseino.
President Tatar stated that Turkish Cypriot People also have a place in the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) and that the TRNC is accepted as a member State with an observer status.
TÜRKSOY, which was established in 1993 by Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, organises activities and events aimed at strengthening the ties of brotherhood and solidarity among Turkic peoples.
President Tatar stated: “TÜRKSOY is of significant importance in promoting Turkic culture to the rest of the world as well as to future generations. Artists and writers from the TRNC have been participating in TÜRKSOY organised events for many years. The TRNC is the representative of Turkish republics in the eastern Mediterranean.
“As a Turkic State, it is my wish that a residential area in the TRNC be declared a cultural capital in the foreseeable future, which will made us proud.”
President Tatar thanked Dusen Kaseinov for his visit and wished him success in his work.
Anıl Kaya, Presidential Political Affairs Advisor, was also present at the meeting.
