President Ersin Tatar receives French Ambassador, Salina Grenet-Catalano
President Ersin Tatar received the French Ambassador, Salina Grenet-Catalano at the Office of the Presidency. During the meeting, President Tatar emphasised the Turkish Cypriot position in relation to the Cyprus issue which is based on sovereign equality of two States, coexisting side-by-side, which enjoy a cooperative relationship. The President explained the vision of the Turkish Cypriot side reiterating that it is based on peace and stability in Cyprus and the region, on a ‘win-win’ understanding.
The President said it would be important for France, which is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to contribute to ending the political and economic disparity between the two sides, and to treat the Turkish Cypriot side and the Greek Cypriot side in a just and equal manner in the international arena.
President Tatar said that the Turkish Cypriot side will be going to the five-plus-UN meeting with a vision of cooperation and sustainable stability based on sovereign equality in Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean and this is the vision they will be defending at the informal meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
