“This nation has suffered a lot and will never give up on its national cause with the support of the Republic of Türkiye.”
President Ersin Tatar received Major Dr. Nihat İlhan’s son Prof. Dr. Mustafa Necmi İlhan and his wife, daughter and grandchildren -- whose family were martyred by the EOKA terrorist organisation on the night of December 24th, 1963, which has come to be known as “Bloody Christmas” in the history of Cyprus.
President Tatar stated that he was honored by the visit made on this meaningful day and emphasised that the pain of the family martyred in the Kumsal massacre in his childhood years will never be forgotten.
President Tatar stated that they had inaugurated the Museum of Barbarism earlier today, which is located at the very house where the massacre took place, which has been fully restored with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) of the Republic of Türkiye.
Stating that a state was established thanks to our martyrs and this means a lot in the eastern Mediterranean, President Tatar emphasised that this nation has suffered a lot and will never give up on its national cause with the support of the Republic of Türkiye.
