President Ersin Tatar receives Türkiye Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) Board Member Muhammed Burak Sarman and his accompanying delegation
“Continuing to strengthen the TRNC is very important for our existence”
President Ersin Tatar received a delegation from the Türkiye Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) where he said he was “proud and honoured” to witness the support and sensitivities shown by the youth with regards to the Cyprus national cause and the TRNC.
The President expressed his gratitude to TÜGVA Board Member Muhammed Burak Sarman and the delegation for their visit, adding: “So many prominent figures in the world who understand the nature of the Cyprus issue and the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot People, are vocal about the need for the recognition of the TRNC. On this issue, I wish to thank Aziz Sancar – a Turkish molecular biologist who received the 2015 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, for publishing a photograph and his message in support of the formal recognition of the TRNC.”
President Tatar added that he was “happy to see this type of support from renowned people” and added that “your visit today is a clear indication of your support and that of the younger generation towards the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot People in our national cause, which is of great importance”.
President Tatar stated that the steps taken towards the TRNC are promising and expressed that the Republic of Türkiye is a great and powerful state.
“The further strengthening of the TRNC is very important for our existence,” the President said. “Our priority is to ensure the existence of sustainable peace and stability and the continued sovereign equality and equal international status rights of the Turkish Cypriot People.”
President Tatar said he places importance on maintaining good relations with young people and their dedication to working as individuals to not only better themselves, but also to work for the collective good of the nation and that of the country.
President Tatar wished the visiting group success in their studies.
