President Ersin Tatar together with his wife Sibel Tatar attended ‘The First Youth Concert’ held in Bedesten, which was organised by the TRNC Presidency as part of the celebrations of the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
The concert, which was broadcast live on local television channels, was held without an audience due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the project design and the presentation was made by one of our country’s opera artists, Soprano Laden İnce, the Presidential Art Consultant.
Concert Pianist and Expert Instructor Atakan Sarı and our artist candidates Ayten Sönmezoğlu, Havva Özdemirağ, Muazzez Çekici and Nurseli Tilki took part in the concert, which aims to introduce the latest generation of opera singers who are studying at various conservatories in the field of opera or to introduce their new graduate candidates to our public.
The composition of one of our local artists, Cemal Özgürsel, who composed a song called ‘Every baby is a sapling’ (Inspired by the ‘Welcome Baby Memory Forest Project’ realised under the auspices of President Ersin Tatar's wife, Sibel Tatar), and was performed for the first time by the youth as the surprise of the night at the concert.
At the end of a very exciting concert including magnificent performances by the young artists, certificates of participation were presented to each of them by President Ersin Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar.
