President Tatar: “There can be no solution with impositions”
President Ersin Tatar received the Head of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Turgay Deniz and the accompanying Chamber Board members.
During the meeting, President Tatar stated that his meeting with the Greek Cypriot administration leader Nicos Anastasiades will be for acquaintance purposes and that he will express the expectations of the Turkish Cypriot people. President Tatar indicated that the embargoes and isolations should be reviewed. Embargoes are being imposed and solution is not possible with impositions, noted President Tatar.
He said the following:
“If there is good will on the other side, if they expect for a lasting peace in Cyprus, we should review these embargoes and isolations. Because such isolation is unacceptable. Such an understanding at this era is not an understanding that the Turkish Cypriot people could consent . I want to express this at tomorrow's meeting at the best possible way because there is no acceptable part to this."
“Today, if there is no direct flight to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, it is due to the veto of the Greek Cypriot side,” stated President Tatar and added: “If the freedom of travel is being prevented today, this is an obstacle due to the veto of the Greek Cypriot side. All these are preventions for us so that Turkish Cypriot side would not develop, improve, find prosperity. These are impositions. There can be no solution with impositions. The Turkish Cypriot side will never accept these. It is necessary to express these clearly before the eyes of the whole world, because they are absolutely unacceptable.”
