President Tatar visits the National Archieves and Research Institute
President Ersin Tatar, who visited the National Archieves and Research Institute, made observations and received information about the work carried out.
“The Biggest Evidence of the Turkish existence in Cyprus”
In his speech, President Tatar said “the National Archieves is the clearest evidence of Turkish existence in Cyprus, the memory of our struggle".
President Tatar stated that it is a national duty to hand over these to the next generations.
Stating that the enrichment of works of the National Archieves and Research Institute, which is affiliated to the Presidency, is envisaged, President Tatar noted that the existence of the Turkish Cypriot people is the main focus and the efforts to document all these are part of the struggle today.
“Two separate states”
Noting that there are two equal peoples and two separate states in Cyprus, President Tatar stated that the struggle to reach a solution based on two sovereign states will continue. Expressing the importance of using the records and valuable documents of the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people on these lands since 1571, President Tatar stated that the documents in the National Archieves are our guarantee in the struggle.
