TRNC authorities have offered to assist the Greek Cypriot Administration in their response to extinguish a forest fire that has broken out in a steep area between Ay. Mama-Kalohor in Limassol.
In accordance with the directive of President Ersin Tatar, the Special Representative of the President, M. Ergün Olgun conveyed the offer to the Greek Cypriot Side via the Technical Committee on crisis management.
Mr Olgun has stated that the necessary arrangements and preparations have been made to help in efforts to extinguish the wildfire in South Cyprus, which he communicated to Greek Cypriot negotiator Menelaos Menelaou last night.
Greek Cypriot officials, who thanked the Turkish Cypriot Side for the offer to help them in firefighting efforts, have stated that the forest fire has in fact been brought under control, and they have stated that no assistance will be needed.
