President's Special Representative M. Ergün Olgun made a statement on the matter of Turkish Cypriot students studying in the UK and vaccinations: “Our initiatives are continuing”
Upon the statement made by the United Kingdom that vaccination cards that are not approved by the European Union will not be accepted, the President's Special Representative M. Ergün Olgun said that together with the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, necessary contacts and efforts are being made to prevent the unnecessary and unjust treatment of Turkish Cypriots and in particular the Turkish Cypriots studying abroad.
Mr Olgun explained that the Turkish Cypriots are already subject to isolation and they are trying to prevent new problems from arising. Stating that efforts and contacts are continuing for the TRNC vaccination cards of students and citizens to be acceptable in the UK, Mr Olgun emphasised that a statement will be made on the matter in due course.
