Assoc. Dr. Melahat Arıklı presented her book titled 'Milli Mücadelede Kalemiyle Savaşanlar (1955-1974)' (Those who Fight the National Struggle with their Pens -- 1955-1974) to President Ersin Tatar.
President Ersin Tatar stated that putting on record the various phases, struggles and developments on the Cyprus issue is and will be an important resource in the future for civil society, the state, authorities and universities and he congratulated Assoc. Dr. Melahat Arıklı for her work.
Expressing that it is a national debt to include such works in our archive and in the the memory of the Turkish Cypriot people, President Tatar pointed out that such studies should be increased.
Assoc. Dr. Melahat Arıklı stated that she wrote the book for the new generations to know about the events that took place in the Turkish Cypriot national struggle using the 'pens of different political views fighting the national cause".
Presidential Press Advisor Aydın Akkurt was also present at the meeting.
