AHMET AKDENİZ

(Chairman of the Presidential Committee for the Disabled Ahmet Akdeniz)
He was born in 1975 in Turkey. He moved to the TRNC with his family in 1977. In 1980, he lost his right foot below the knee after being hit by a truck in front of his house in Tatlısu. He completed his primary school in Tatlısu, secondary school in Geçitkale, high school education at Nicosia Turkish High School, his undergraduate education at NEU Faculty of Communication and his master's degree in Business Administration at Akdeniz Karpaz University with his thesis on "Determination of Perceptions of Disabled Individuals On Social Life within the Scope of Social Marketing".

As a member of the board of directors of the Cyprus Turkish Orthopaedic Disabled Association for more than 15 years and now he works as the vice president, he took part in various projects and organizations in order to find solutions to the problems of individuals with disabilities. 
He took part as an amateur theatre actor in the play named "Kara Tahta", which deals with the problems of people with disabilities at the Nicosia Municipal Theater. He also took part in the Contemporary Music Association as a chorister for more than 2 years.
Ahmet Akdeniz, who is fluent in English, is married with two daughters.
