Burcu Kayan

She was born on 27 June 1978. Her mother was born in Limassol in 1950. Her father was born in Konya, he is a retired military officer and a veteran of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
She is a graduate of TED Ankara College, Class of 1995. She graduated from Bilkent University in 2003 from the Department of English-French-Turkish Translation and Interpretation. In 2004 she attended the EU Law and Translation certificate programme of European Commission and she received the EU Translation Specialist Certificate.
In 2007 she graduated from the Department of Public Relations at Anadolu University. She received numerous training in the field of corporate relations.
She worked as a senior manager assistant, coordinator of corporate relations, and translator for Turkey’s leading companies in the field of energy, construction, and defence industries.  Between 2011 and 2015, she worked for Sabancı Holding Enerjisa Electricity Generation and Distribution companies in positions related to corporate relations and translation.
She is currently working as the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Ankara representative. She coordinates the relations of the institution with all official authorities, particularly the Republic of Turkey Office of the Vice President Cyprus Affairs Coordinatorship, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the Ministry of Commerce, and develops projects in cooperation with the NGOs operating in Turkey to further develop the economic and commercial activities between the two countries.
She is the first honorary member of the Turkish Cypriot Women Entrepreneurs Association in Ankara. She develops projects towards better promotion of Turkish Cypriot culture in Turkey, frequently comes together with Turkish Cypriots living in Ankara, and works in cooperation with NGOs operating in the TRNC.
She is married to lawyer Atilla Onur Kayan, and she has one son.
