Associate Professor Doctor Nazim Burgul

He was born on 29th of April 1971 in Nicosia. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Nicosia. In 1993, he graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Education, School of Physical Education and Sports with the first degree of faculty. Shortly after graduation, he contributed to rowing in the performance laboratory of the sports sciences at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, USA. In 1995, he completed his master's degree at Gazi University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Sports Management. In 2001, he graduated from Anadolu University Open Education Faculty, Public Relations Department. In 2007, he completed his PhD in Near East University at the Department of Educational Administration, Supervision, Economics and Planning. On February 1, 2009, he received the title of assistant professor at the Institute of Educational Sciences of the Near East University. Furthermore, he became an associate professor of Sports Sciences in June 19, 2019.
Assoc. Dr. Nazim Burgul has been working at Near East University since 1995. In addition, he served as a board member in various federations (Football, University Sports, Handball, Volleyball, Basketball Federation). He has contributed to and chaired many projects (Eurofit; Physical Education, Health and Sports Program (1-8th Grade Textbook); Total Quality Management Commission in Education) both within the university and under the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports. He has given many seminars on sport education and quality of life to NGOs and local governments. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at many national and international conferences on related topics. He has five published books on sport education and management.
Assoc. Dr. Nazim Burgul is the Vice Dean of the NEU Faculty of Sport Sciences and the Head of the Department of Sports Management. He is also a member of Cyprus Turkish Football Federation's Education Supreme Council and speaks English fluently. He has two children.
