The ninth anniversary of the passing of the TRNC Founding President, Rauf Raif Denktaş, was commemorated in a ceremony where President Ersin Tatar delivered a speech stating that he shared the same values of seeking an agreement in Cyprus that was based on ‘sovereignty’ and a ‘two State model’ – which he said was afforded great importance by Mr Denktaş.
Whilst celebrating most sincerely the 10 January Working Journalists' Day of our press members who are an indispensable force of democracy and freedom of thought, I would also like to wish our press members every success for their efforts that are aimed at keeping the public enlightened and informed -- even under the most difficult circumstances -- whilst adhering to the principles of correct reporting, impartiality and journalistic ethics.
The President met with the Chairman of the Turkish Peace Forces Veterans Association Kadir Dedeoğlu and his accompanying delegation.

President Ersin Tatar stated that the Postal Service has great importance in the relations of Turkish Cypriots with the world and drew attention to the contribution made to the promotion of the country thanks to postage stamps.
