Presidential Undersecretary Okan Donangil

Okan Donangil was born on October 23rd, 1967 in Istanbul. After graduating from Nicosia Türk Maarif College in 1985, he completed his higher education at King Fahd University of Petroleums and Minerals, Computer Science Department in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
He completed his master’s degree on Computer Engineering in 2005 at the Near East University.
Between 1992 and 1997, he started his professional career by serving as the import-export director in the private sector.
He started working as a part-time lecturer at the Near East University in 1993 and continued lecturing full-time from 2004 to 2015.
In 2015, he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority and held his position until 2019.
Donangil served as the Private Secretary to the Prime Minister between 2019 and 2020.
Donangil, who has a national athlete background in basketball, served as Deputy President of the Basketball Federation between 2000 and 2002, then was elected as the President of the Basketball Federation in 2008 and continued his duty until 2014.
Okan Donangil, who also took part in various activities with understanding of social responsibility, received an invitation and participated in the “Young Political Leaders of Europe” programme in 2003 organised by the U.S. Department of State.
He was active in the Board of Directors of the Idea Club between 2014 and 2017.
Donangil, who has been working as the Undersecretary of the Presidency since December 2020, is married and has two children. He is fluent in English.
