President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar participate in the End of Year Show of the Gazimağusa Special Education and Vocational School

President Ersin Tatar and First Lady Sibel Tatar watched the ‘Grease’ musical end of year performance by children of the Gazimağusa Special Education and Vocational School that was held at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Centre.
 
Paying tribute to the staff and children at the school, President Tatar stated that the “TRNC continues to demonstrate sensitivity with regards to children with special needs, their access to education and participation in different activities, with the involvement of other institutions and organisations of the State, in order to prepare them for the future”.
 
President Tatar added: “Each and every one of you are valuable citizens of our country and I want to thank the relevent ministry, the staff and everybody at the school, for being so passionate and devoted, and for caring and showing love and interest towards our children, who are most  certainly being educated in the best possible manner.”
 
The President stated that he and First Lady Sibel Tatar “show great sensitivity to social responsibility projects, and we also have a committee formed under the auspices of the Presidency concerning children with special needs”.
 
“I wholeheartedly support every activity that is aimed to have more inclusivity of our children with special needs, and the more such activities are held the better. These activities embrace them and promote further interaction and awareness with the general public,” President Tatar said.
 
Pointing out that a Special Education Law has been passed by the Parliament, the President said that with the passing of appropiate regulations, “more awareness, sensitivity among the public and activities towards our children with special needs will be increased”.
 
“It is not possible to forget the deep pain and sadness due to the loss of lives of our children and some parents and teachers, following the catastrophic earthquakes that occured in the Republic of Türkiye on February 6. We continue to live with this pain that prevails in our hearts,” the President said.
 
The Champion Angels  volleyball team was also commemorated with a banner that wrote "Champions Never Die".
 
Following the speeches, President Tatar presented the plaques of appreciation to those who contributed to the organisation of the event.
