President Ersin Tatar arrives in New York for meetings with UN Secretary-General Guterres and a tripartite meeting with the Greek Cypriot leader
President Ersin Tatar has arrived in New York to hold talks with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides.
President Tatar will have a bilateral meeting with Secretary-General Guterres at the UN Headquarters. The meeting is scheduled to take place today at 7.15pm local time (2.15am TRNC time).
The trilateral meeting follows the decision taken during the informal meeting that was held in a broader format in New York last July.
Within this framework, the meeting between President Tatar, Secretary-General Guterres, and Greek Cypriot leader Christodoulides is planned to take place tomorrow at 12.30pm (7.30pm TRNC time).
Following the meetings, President Tatar will make a statement to the press.
Accompanying President Tatar on this visit are Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Special Representative Güneş Onar, Legal Adviser Sülen Karabacak, Confidence Building Measures and Bilateral Technical Committees Coordinator Seniha Birand Çınar, Special Adviser on International Relations and Diplomacy Hüseyin Işıksal, and Foreign Press Officer Kerem Haser.
