President Ersin Tatar attended the award ceremony held for the World Theatre Day

President Ersin Tatar participated in the awards ceremony that was held at the Kıbrıs Genç TV Meral Tekin First Hall on World Theatre Day, held under the slogan 'Yes to Art' which has been organised by First Art and İpek Denizli Art Workshop.
 
Renowned Turkish theatre and cinema artist, Tamer Levent, also participated in the event.
 
In his speech at the ceremony, President Tatar expressed his gratitude to the organisers of "such a meaningful organisation," adding: "Years ago, a great struggle was waged by Turkish Cypriot people to promote their identity, customs and traditions to the rest of the world through the use of cinema, theatre and television"
 
President Tatar later presented Mr Levent with the Lifetime Achievement Honorary Award.
 
In addition to President Ersin Tatar, the ceremony was also attended by the Speaker of the TRNC Parliament Zorlu Töre and Prime Minister Dr Faiz Sucuoğlu.
