President Ersin Tatar attended the 14th Dawn Vigil event that was held at the Yavuz Çıkarma [Landing] Beach in Alsancak on the night of July 19, where the Cyprus Peace Operation had been started 49 years ago. President Tatar, who spoke with members of the public and commemorated Peace and Freedom Day, also lead the walk down to the beachfront where prayers were conducted by Imams for the martyrs.
