President Ersin Tatar congratulates GÜNSEL B9's showcasing in the world automotive market in London, stating: “The success of GÜNSEL is also the success of everyone who believes in the TRNC"

President Ersin Tatar has hailed the TRNC’s first ever domestic car, GÜNSEL B9, after the vehicle was showcased in the world automotive market at the ‘London EV Show’ which was inaugurated today.

The GÜNSEL B9, which is 100 per cent electric and environmental friendly, and the first model of its kind to be manufactured in the TRNC, can achieve enhanced acceleration, silent driving and a high level of performance.  The GÜNSEL B9 can travel 350km on one fully charged battery.

President Ersin Tatar, who had test driven the vehicle last October (2020), said in a written statement:

"The GÜNSEL, the first domestic vehicle of the TRNC, is to be showcased in the world automotive market at the ‘London EV Show’ was inaugurated today.  Like every Turkish Cypriot, it made me very proud. This success, in the simplest terms, is not only an important sign of believing in the TRNC and looking to the future with hope, but it is the harbinger of the bright future of the Turkish Cypriots in these lands.

The global success of GÜNSEL is our national pride as they have hoisted the flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the symbol of our sovereignty, in London, among the world's automotive giants. It is the success of everyone who believes in the TRNC and our sovereignty.

Despite all kinds of embargoes and inhumane isolation, Turkish Cypriots will continue to produce and develop and grow stronger in these lands. The TRNC has more than enough human capital, ability and courage to develop in every field from sports to art, from industry to tourism, from education to agriculture.

GÜNSEL is taking its first step into the continent of Europe at the electric automobile fair in London, which will continue for three days from December 14-16, and has been instrumental in showing the TRNC's determination to open up to the world once again.

The GÜNSEL B9 had first left our country to be exhibited at the international event in İstanbul appearing at the MUSIAD EXPO 2020 Fair last November.  Now, we are proud to note that the vehicle is being exhibited in the European continent, which is a shining example of what can be achieved when we are determined in our struggle to exist.   On behalf of myself and the Turkish Cypriot people, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Günsel family, engineers, staff in the factory and to everyone who contributed to make a dream come true to make us all proud.”
