President Ersin Tatar gave a farewell dinner in honor of German Ambassador Franz Josef Kremp, who is about to complete his term of office.  

At the farewell dinner, the Ambassador shared his observations about his four-year term and made evaluations about the future. President Tatar stated to the Ambassador that for peace, stability and cooperation in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean to be reached, there is a need to start official negotiations on the basis of the sovereign equality and the equal international status of the two sides on the island. He added that the Turkish Cypriot side is ready for formal nagotiations on this ground, which are our inherent rights. The President wished the German Ambassador good health and well-being following his retirement.  

Special Representative M. Ergün Olgun, Confidence Building Measures and Bilateral Technical Committees Coordinator Güneş Onar, Legal Affairs Advisor Sülen Karabacak and Foreign Relations Officer Ayşe Balcıoğlu were also present at the luncheon.
