President Ersin Tatar held an online meeting with the TRNC Presidential Committee on Economy and Natural Resources.
President Ersin Tatar met with members of the Presidential Committee on Economy and Natural Resources.
Committee members gave information to the President about the activities carried out under the committee and talked about the problems experienced in our country in the economy and natural resources sectors. Members also expressed their support to the President in relation to the Cyprus negotiations.
President Tatar stated that with the recent inaugeration of the irrigation tunnel to Güzelyurt, which forms part of the 'project of the century' where fresh water in piped from Turkey under an 80km long undersea pipeline to the TRNC, and the expansion of distribution pipes onland, he added that production will increase in the citrus rich Güzelyurt region as well as the Mesarya plain. President Tatar said the existence of high quality water will also increase fertility of the citrus and agricultural produce and, therefore, contribute to the economy of the TRNC. Mentioning that the pandemic has been managed very well in the TRNC so far, President Tatar thanked the members for their participation in the committee and their support.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Salih Saner, Prof. Dr. Vedat Yorucu, Hasan Sungur, Candan Avunduk, Mustafa Alkaravlı, Turgay Deniz, Fuat Nalcıoğlu and Ahmet Hastürk attended. Chief Advisor to the Presidency and Technical Committees Senior Coordinator Prof. Dr. Tülen Saner was also present.
