President Ersin Tatar issues a message on the occasion of April 2, World Autism Awareness Day

“We aim for children with autism to find a place in the education system and society”

The message of President Ersin Tatar is as follows:

“Although the reason is not yet fully known, it is known that it is possible to bring autistic children to the same school with their peers, thanks to factors such as early diagnosis in autism, special education and proper nutrition.
Autism is seen in all societies, regardless of social status. The most important step in communicating with our children with autism is early diagnosis, and the most important treatment is proper nutrition as well as intensive and continuous special education. We are 'aware' of all these. It should be aimed that children with autism find a place in the education system and society.

I would like to reiterate the importance of increasing the visibility of individuals with autism in society, since most of the problems can be overcome as a result of early diagnosis and early individual inclusive education.

On the occasion of April 2, World Autism Awareness Day, I would like to thank all our educators, especially their parents, for their sensitivity, who contribute to the equal implementation of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all our children in general, and in particular for our children with autism.

I would like to emphasise once again that it is one of our important goals for our children with autism to be a part of society and receive education under equal conditions.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all educators and employees who have always devoted themselves to special education.”
