President Ersin Tatar stated that scientific studies in the working groups established during the pandemic have provided guidance and they worked together in the light of scientific and mathematical modeling studies during the pandemic process. Making the best possible evaluations and taking important decisions despite some risks yielded positive results, President Tatar added.

President Tatar, who met with a group of researchers from the Near East University led by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, was presented with the research report on epidemic diseases which achieved success at the Turkish Microbiology Congress which was held in Antalya.

Reminding that our country coped well with the unfamiliar Covid-19 process in view of scientific-based predictions, President Tatar said “I would like to share the importance of the studies for the future of the TRNC and I congratulate all the contributors”.
The President highlighted that along with the services of NEU on the economical and social fields for the country, the studies in the hospital and laboratory, articles and international contacts are also positive developments for the TRNC.  He noted that all these studies, despite the unfair embargoes, are of great importance both in terms of science and the recognition of the country.
Stating that these invaluable studies are silver lining for the TRNC and Turkish Cypriot people, President Tatar said he will examine the scientific research report and congratulated the research team and all those who contributed.
