President Ersin Tatar has met with Gürsel Baran, President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and his accompanying delegation.

The President paid tribute to the chamber, underlining the importance of “economic mobility” and thanked them for “strengthening the mutual relations”.

Pointing out the importance of trust and communication in trade, President Tatar said he is pleased that “mutual contacts based on trust between the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and the Ankara Chamber of Commerce have continued to increase”.

President Tatar said: “I thank you for the value you give to the TRNC and the support you have given to the just struggle of the Turkish Cypriot People. I participated in the opening of the new international and domestic terminal building of Antalya International Airport, which has become one of the important hubs and a bridge to the TRNC and the rest of the world. Our country has an important historical importance in the eastern Mediterranean, and is continuing to develop its tourism, higher education and agriculture sectors.”

President Tatar, who referred to TEKNOFEST – the first and only aerospace and technology festival which is due to be held for the first time ever in the TRNC, stated that the organisation is being held between May 1 to 4.

“TEKNOFEST will host participants from numerous countries, and will bring technology to the TRNC. This technology festival will once again highlight the importance of the TRNC – a Turkish state located in the eastern Mediterranean,” President Tatar said.

Mr. Baran thanked President Tatar for the meeting, briefed the President about the work of the chamber, and expressed support to the TRNC and its development across different areas despite the unjust isolation of the country.
