President Ersin Tatar has participated in the Civil Defence, Disaster Management and Intervention Exercise 2022 that was organised by the TRNC Civil Defence Organisation.

The exercise, which was held in the Metehan region of Lefkoşa on Thursday, was conducted in order to inspect the readiness level of all units in the face of an emergency or natural disaster, and to show the type of coordination and cooperation needed between the units aimed at protecting the lives of people in such circumstances.
President Tatar, who addressed the event that was also attended by the personnel from the Civil Defence Organisation, the People’s Organisation and other different ministries and organisations, stated: “This successful exercise is very important in showing the potential that exists between the units, as well as developing and improving the capabilities of the units in the event of a natural disaster or emergency occurring. It has also demonstrated the sort of coordination and cooperation needed between the units in these types of circumstances, and gives confidence to our people who, through this exercise, are able to see the sort of work involved in order to protect the safety of the public, which is of significant importance and value. We are very proud at the success of our units and at what we have watched today.”
President Tatar also thanked the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Civil Defence Directorate, personnel and to everyone who contributed to the organisation of this very important exercise.
