President Ersin Tatar attended the Digital Transformation of Northern Cyprus-Fintech Summit held at Celsus Business Centre in cooperation with Cyprus Entrepreneurship and Technology Investment Association (GİTYAD) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) as well as Türkiye Financial Technologies Assembly.
Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Prof. Dr. Metin Feyzioğlu also participated in the summit.
President Tatar, in his speech, pointed to the importance of having faith in the TRNC and that trust for the TRNC is rising day by day; for many international organisations are demanding to invest in our country.
President Tatar continued his speech as follows:
“Your initiatives will pave the way for further developments in our country. Both the support of the Republic of Türkiye and your sincerity toward the TRNC, having achieved great success reflect the love of our country in the hearts. Our potential to provide great services to the country with developing ideas and science is our wealth.
I conveyed to the US Ambassador Judith Garber, with whom I met yesterday, that the obstacles before the economic development of the TRNC are not acceptable.
Various company officials from all over the world, maintain their commercial ties in the TRNC.
The Republic of Türkiye has direct flights to our country, our relationship with the world is carried out in this way. It is our greatest wish to make our dreams come true in the next period.
There is no reason for the TRNC not to be successful because we have the potential to overcome all obstacles in solidarity.
We defend the TRNC everywhere. The guarantee of our presence in this country is our state. The Greek Cypriot side aims at making us part of Republic of Cyprus. No Turkish Cypriot accepts such thing. We are a separate state and a separate republic. I am content to carry out our politics with the full support of Motherland Türkiye. I would like to express my sincere thanks and wish you continued success.”
