President Ersin Tatar, who participated in the First Politics and Communication Summit organised by the Cyprus Turkish Center for Political and Social Studies (SITA) delivered a speech.
 
Adressing at the summit held in Kyrenia this morning, President Ersin Tatar congratulated those who contributed to the creation of the think tank team and the organisation of the summit and wished them success.
 
President Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriot people experienced genocides and brutal attacks and a political structure was formed accordingly based on these realities. The President stressed the importance of the issue of sovereignty for the future of the TRNC and the significance of good relations with the Republic of Türkiye. Expressing that communication means are important for the political thought produced by different people to become beneficial, President Tatar said working together is necessary for shaping the future of our country.
 
Stating that important principles should be embraced for the future of the country, President Tatar noted that politicians should be able to envisage the potential of the country and the interests of the people.
 
“New politics arising from exhausted politics is neccessary to be supported through communication means,” said President Tatar. President Tatar noted that their main goal should be to provide more prosperous and secure life for their people in the future. It is necessary to consider the common sense and the ideas of the people to form the right opinion, he added. “The main responsibility of all of us is to pay attention to and be aware of the sincere and true voice of the people,” he said.
 
Underlining the importance of cooperation between the world of politics and communication, President Tatar said; “Our source is the common sense of the people, the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people on these territories. Our fortune is the support of the Republic of Türkiye".
