President Ersin Tatar has participated in the Spring Arrows Special Archery Competition Award Ceremony that was organised by the TRNC Archery Federation and Archery Foundation, and attended by 13 separate clubs.

President Tatar stated that he was pleased and honoured to see such determination by the youth who chose to take up archery as a sport in the TRNC.  The President also thanked the organisers for organising the event, stating that “this is a good activity which also enhances solidarity”.

Commending the youth for displaying their talents and skills in archery, President Tatar said: “It is very important for our youth to promote, develop and enjoy this sport, which continues to grow and attract more attention from our young people.”

Referring to the importance of young people displaying their talents in different sports fields, President Tatar stated: “Despite the continuing unjust isolation in sports on Turkish Cypriot youth, our efforts continue to break this restriction and to pave the way for our youth to be able to participate in international tournaments, to play the youth of other countries. The isolation on our youth must be needed. The TRNC has 33 separate sports federations. This situation cannot be justified and must be addressed by the international community.”

The President stated that the “doors will be opened” for archery clubs of the TRNC to be able to participate in sports tournaments with the clubs of brotherly Turkic States, following the observer member of the TRNC to the Organisation of Turkic States last November, following the support of Motherland Türkiye.

President Tatar presented the champions and runners up their medals at the ceremony.
