President Ersin Tatar pays tribute to first TRNC Prime Minister Mustafa Çağatay on the anniversary of his demise

President Ersin Tatar attended the ceremony held today and paid tribute to the first Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mustafa Çağatay, on the 33rd anniversary of his demise.
 
In his speech at the commemoration ceremony, President Tatar stated that the wish of Mr Çağatay, who was amongst the founders of the TRNC, was for the Turkish Cypriot people to continue to exist in Cyprus forever and he added that this is indeed what they will continue to work for.
 
President Tatar emphasised that Mr Çağatay "left a great mark in the country as a statesman with his sincerity, patience, vigilance and honest personality". 
 
President Tatar said: “We are witnessing together how meaningful and valuable the TRNC is,  how important it is for our future existence and the continuation of corroboration of great politics with the Republic of Türkiye."
 
President Tatar commemorated Mr Çağatay, who devoted his life to the Turkish Cypriot cause and the establishment of the TRNC, and expressed his gratitude, saying: "May he rest in eternal peace".
