President Ersin Tatar received a delegation from the Antalya Sustainable Economic Community – headed by Chairman Ahmet Alper Alveroğlu where discussions were held in relation to the economy and investment opportunities in the TRNC.

Thanking the delegation for their visit, President Tatar stated that he attributes great importance in strengthening the bond between the Turkish nation and the Turkish Cypriots. The President said this is “always a prominent issue” that he discusses with the public and business people when he visits Turkey from time to time.
“The Republic of Turkey is the most powerful country in the region and has a lot of dynamics in every field,” the President said. “The Republic of Turkey is geographically the centre in terms of relations with different countries in the region. It is very important for our national and civil interests to strengthen the TRNC and to take advantage of the historical, political, economic and social ties with the Republic of Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean and the Blue Homeland,” he added.

 “The Republic of Turkey is a stronger and more assertive country” 

Expressing that we have interests in sharing geopolitical, geostrategic and hydrocarbon wealth and maintaining our superiority in airspace, President Tatar stated that Cyprus is not the former Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean is not the former eastern Mediterranean either. The Republic of Turkey is a stronger and more assertive country. 

Noting that the contacts with business people will continue at the highest level, President Tatar stated that tourism in Antalya is developing day-by-day and wished success to the chairman and members of the Antalya Sustainable Economic Community in their work. 

Mr Alveroğlu thanked President Ersin Tatar for receiving the delegation and added that the Antalya Sustainable Economic Community is a think tank made up of members who are successful in their own respective fields.
