The President stated that the Greek Cypriot mentality has not altered and that the attempt of the Greek Cypriot side to extend its authority into the north will not be allowed.
Pointing to the unfair restrictions and isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriot side, the President said despite all the obstacles, the TRNC will continue to develop in many different areas such as higher education and tourism. President Tatar expressed his gratitude that the Cyprus issue is being examined by the visiting university and pointed to the necessity of such contacts in defending and resonating our case in the world.

Despite being victimised, Turkish Cypriots will continue to resist, said President Tatar. “We will continue our way with determination in order to make our righteous case and voice heard more in the world,” he added.
The President further indicated the importance of the continuation of Türkiye's guarantorship in terms of security and balances in the region. He also drew attention to the significance of equal sovereignty, which is an inherent right of the Turkish Cypriot people.

In his speech, President Tatar also gave information about the water project from Türkiye to our island and mentioned the proposals of the Turkish Cypriot side for cooperation with the Greek Cypriot side on issues such as water and energy issues.
