President Ersin Tatar receives the Chairman of Turkish War Veterans Association

The President met with the Chairman of the Turkish Peace Forces Veterans Association Kadir Dedeoğlu and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the President stated that he felt honour and happy meeting the war veterans who took part in the 1974 Peace Operation in his office and the President congratulated the new administration committee  of the association and wished them success.
 
 
“TRNC GIVES GREAT HOPES TO THE PEOPLE FOR THE FUTURE”
 
Underlining that we need to put to use our spirit, unity, solidarity and strength for the future of our country, to create a strong TRNC, President Tatar drew attention to the fact that the TRNC gives great hopes to the people for the future.
The President reiterated that the current stage now requires a solution based on sovereign equality and cooperation with two states. Highlighting the full support of the Turkey, the President expressed his belief that the TRNC state will develop further in the future.
President Tatar drew attention to the importance of taking lessons from the past experiences and highlighted the necessity to take political steps carefully and cautiously. He also emphasized the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and underlined the necessity of a two-state solution in terms of stability in the region.
 
“TAKING STEPS TOGETHER WITH TURKEY REGARDING THE CYPRUS ISSUE”
 
The President said that on the Cyprus issue, steps are taken together with Turkey. He added that in order to protect our own national interests, it is necessary for an agreement to be reached as a State. 
President Ersin Tatar emphasised that the TRNC is getting stronger due to its strategic position in the Eastern Mediterranean and that the TRNC state should be protected.
