President Ersin Tatar stated that victimising people must be avoided and said that the works should be evaluated for the benefit of both the people and the institution.

President Tatar, who made a statement after his meeting on electricity with the KIB-TEK board of directors and general manager at the Presidency today, said, “Citizens are victims right now. Victimising the citizens serves the country nothing. Common sense is what is needed.”

President Tatar stated that the government and the board of directors should consult on how to provide the service to our people in the best way, and said that while making the best decisions on the issue, different opinions can be resolved through consultation.

The President, who shared his sadness due to the actions and reactions that made the people victimised, said the following:
“My call from here is to find the right way through consultation as soon as possible. There is the government. There is a Board of Directors. There is the Parliament. There is democracy. Within the framework of all these, it is our greatest wish that the right decisions are taken and the services continue.”

Pointing to the long-term importance of the project of providing electricity by cable from the Republic of Türkiye, which is 40 miles away, and interconnecting with renewable energy, considering the fuel dimension and the future of the country, President Tatar underlined the importance of providing more efficient and contemporary energy through electricity by cable. There is a determination at the highest level for the realisation of this project in consultation with the Republic of Türkiye, added the President.
