President Ersin Tatar receives the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ünsal

"Turkish Cypriot people will continue to act with compassion and kindness, and will not hesitate to help people in need during the Holy Month of Ramadan"

President Ersin Tatar received the President of Religious Affairs Department Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ünsal. In his speech at the reception, President Tatar stated that Turkish Cypriot people will continue to act with compassion and kindness, and will not hesitate to help people in need during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

"Everyone will spend time with each other in tolerance, compassion and love", President Tatar said, adding that the Turkish Cypriot people will, in a spirit of brotherhood and solidarity, not hesitate in helping people in need during the spiritual period, in accordance with their customs and traditions. 

Stating that the world is currently in economic crisis due to the pandemic and war causing suffering to many people, the President stated that there has been an increase in prices in basic necessities and fuel and expressed his belief that we will overcome all these problems together.  “I would like to emphasise that we are ready to do whatever we can in these troubled days," he added.

President Tatar continued:  “I would like to underline that we are ready to do whatever we can in these troubled days.  Turkish Cypriot people have suffered great injustices and as a part of the Islamic world, we expect solidarity, brotherhood and closeness. The existence of motherland Turkey on the island is the only guarantee we have to being able to live in peace and prosperity. I wish the month of Ramadan to bring good health and peace to everyone." 

In his speech, President of Religious Affairs Department Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ünsal, expressed hoped that Ramadan would bring health, peace and prosperity to the Turkish Cypriot people and the Muslim world and thanked President Ersin Tatar for receiving him.
