President Ersin Tatar receives Turkish Cypriot cyclist Emre Kaplan, who won first place in the star men’s category of the Turkish Championship: “We are proud of our young athletes”

President Ersin Tatar received Turkish Cypriot cyclist Emre Kaplan, who won first place in the star men's category in the Turkish championship.

President Tatar congratulated the young athlete for his achievements during the visit, where he said: “We are proud of our young athletes. Your success is our success. You are an inspiration to our youth and an example as to what can be achieved."
 
Referring to the unjust isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriots, President Tatar said that "Despite the unjust isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people and our youth in the field of sports, your courage and achievements are extremely valuable for our State.”  
 
President Tatar wished the young athlete continued success and stated that it is a "great opportunity to take part in such international tournaments with Turkish national teams". 
 
Expressing that it is the duty of the state to provide yound athletes with the necessary opportunities, President Tatar underlined the importance of "overcoming obstacles by remaining dedicated, hard work and adopting a vision geared towards success". 
 
"This is what makes an excellent athlete," the President said.   
 
Emre Kaplan, a young athlete who has been cycling professionally for three years, thanked the President for receiving him, and said he was proud to have achieved such a success in Türkiye.   
 
Presidential Advisor on Sports Affairs Sertaç Bozatlı was also present at the meeting.
